Williams has just secured its biggest sponsorship deal ever, teaming up with Australian software giant Atlassian.

From the 2025 season, the team will officially be known as Atlassian Williams Racing, marking a major shift in the squad’s branding and financial backing.

It’s the first title sponsorship since Dorilton Capital took over in 2020 and the first under team principal James Vowles, who has been leading a massive restructuring effort.

Williams’ sponsorship deal leaks before official announcement

F1 fans were already speculating after a leaked image of Carlos Sainz—reportedly a top contender for a 2025 Williams seat—surfaced online. The photo showed the Spanish driver in Williams gear with Atlassian branding, hinting that an announcement was on the way.

Now, it’s official: Atlassian isn’t just a sponsor—it’s a full title partner, and Williams insists this is the biggest deal in its 48-year history.

Williams’ new sponsor brings more than just branding

For Williams, this partnership is about more than money. Vowles made it clear that Atlassian’s tech and expertise will be just as valuable as the financial boost:

“This is a massive moment for us. Atlassian isn’t just putting their name on the car—they’re bringing in technology that will help us work smarter, faster, and better. We’re determined to get back to the front of the grid, and this is another step in that direction.”

Atlassian’s CEO, Mike Cannon-Brookes, shared a similar perspective, comparing the high-pressure world of F1 to the fast-moving tech industry:

“Formula 1 is all about teamwork, precision, and making split-second decisions. That’s exactly what we do in tech. Williams has an incredible history, and we’re excited to help drive their future.”

Williams set to unveil new livery soon

To celebrate the deal, Williams will launch a special one-off livery this Friday before unveiling the full 2025 race car in London on February 18.

With a new title sponsor, potential driver shake-ups, and fresh investment, 2025 could be the most exciting Williams season in years.

Could this finally be the start of their big comeback? F1 fans will be watching closely.
