Queen Letizia Dazzles in Red Carolina Herrera Suit

Queen Letizia was thrilled during her recent visit to the Bank of Spain, where she had the opportunity to see in person the official portraits taken by the renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Accompanied by King Felipe VI, the monarch attended the exhibition of these emblematic images, which are part of the exhibition ‘The Tyranny of Chronos’, an exhibition that has aroused great interest and whose duration has been extended until May 31 due to its success.

Queen Letizia’s style at the Bank of Spain
For this special occasion, the Queen opted for a sophisticated red suit by Carolina Herrera New York, a choice that contrasted markedly with the black Balenciaga ball gown she wears in her portrait.
The outfit, belonging to the prefall 2019 collection, was composed of a fitted jacket with different tone buttons in the central part and on the cuffs, combined with a straight-cut pants.

This is a style that Letizia has repeated on several occasions, making it clear that this is one of her favorite garments.
As for accessories, she opted for a nude top with a straight neckline, harmonizing with leather shoes from Magrit, whose comfortable design is ideal for her well-known foot discomfort.

She completed her look with a Mica handbag from the same brand, in black with silver finishes.
In the jewelry section, she wore Gold & Roses earrings in rose gold with diamonds, a subtle choice, very different from the impressive chaton necklace that appears in her portrait.
Queen Letizia’s portrait by Annie Leibovitz
The portrait of the Queen, captured by Leibovitz, presents a completely different image.
In the photograph, Letizia wears a sophisticated black strapless dress with draping on the bodice and a voluminous tulle skirt.

This piece, which belongs to Balenciaga, was lent by the Antoni de Montpalau Foundation for the photo shoot, along with a spectacular red cape of wild silk, which brings a vibrant contrast to the image.
One of the most striking elements of the portrait is the chaton necklace that adorns the Queen’s neck.

This jewel, with a fascinating history, belongs to the royal collection and has been worn on multiple occasions by Queen Sofia.
Originally, it was a gift from Alfonso XIII to Victoria Eugenia at their wedding, and over time it was divided into two pieces: a larger one, which became part of the royal jewels, and a smaller one, which years later was recovered by the Bourbon family.
