Photos of Archie and Lili on Instagram: What is Meghan’s strategy?

Since Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, surprised many by reappearing on Instagram on January 1, 2025, with her new account, the platform has become a window into her life.
Meghan has shared everything from her new Netflix project to snapshots of her family life with Prince Harry and her children, Archie and Lilibet.

However, one thing has caught attention: the increasing frequency with which the little ones are appearing in posts.

While the images of Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, have been carefully selected—showing the children mostly with their backs turned to protect their privacy—their presence on the Duchess’s social media is undeniable.
A recent example is the touching image shared by Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, where the Duchess is seen hugging her children during a fruit-picking day in her Montecito garden.
The photo, accompanied by the caption, “Every day is a love story” and a dove emoji, has resonated with her followers.

But what is behind this decision? For some, it’s a strategic move.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggests that the increase in Archie and Lilibet-related content is a ploy to generate even more interest around the Sussexes.
Fitzwilliams told GB News: “Despite the fact that we do not see their faces, she is quite clearly using her children’s images.
“This is a pivotal period for the Sussexes. She knows the Netflix contract is almost certainly going to be renewed in some form.
“Clearly, the children mean extra interest. She has the right to do what she likes, as Archie and Lili are hers and Harry’s.

“They are appearing more often, and it is around the time they need to get more publicity.
“The whole thing shows that she is a force to be reckoned with, and she knows that if the children appear there will be even more interest.”

Meghan’s reappearance on social media, the promotion of her projects, and the subtle exposure of her children seem to be converging at a key moment for the Sussex brand.
Whether this is a calculated strategy or a simple desire to share family moments, only time will tell. What is clear is that the “Archie and Lilibet effect” is generating a wave of attention.
