It has long been speculated that the last part of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s $100million Netflix deal would be a cooking show.

But those who have had a sneak preview of With Love, Meghan, have said it is not the kind of cooking show everyone was anticipating.

It will instead, be a how-to of hosting. A source has said that “It’s a very magical and beautiful guide to hosting and entertaining rather than a… cookery show. It’s about inspiration” and that “There is no point at which Meghan says take 200 grams of flour or anything like that.” If anyone was expecting a Jamie Oliver style cooking show from Markle, with homely food content and easy to follow recipes, be prepared, that is not what this show is about.

There is always buzz around the royal family, even ex-royals and loyal fans continue to follow their journey but this show will be a definite separation from the family brand. As, whilst viewers get a unique perspective of the couples’ home, Prince Harry has little to no screen time and their young family are protected from the cameras. Hence, those hoping to see more from the American-based royal family, will be disappointed. This is a one woman show, with Meghan Markle front and centre. The eight-part series according to a source is “all her, and all about her. It’s very watchable.”

The hosting how-to guide from Meghan Markle will hit the Netflix streaming service in March after January delays.

In the wake of the Los Angeles fires the Netflix show was pushed back from its January release to March 4. Markle thanked streaming giant for the delay in launching the project: ‘I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state.’

For its part Netflix has said that the show “blends practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old.” Even though her immediate family have been kept at a distance during filming, there will be plenty of Meghan’s famous friends for viewers to enjoy. Guests on the show include actress Mindy Kaling, chef Alice Waters and Meghan’s closest friends like make-up artist Daniel Martin.

Netflix have said people can watch her “and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
