A video of Meghan Markle at a 2019 event has once again attracted attention on social networks, generating a flurry of comments and comparisons with other royal figures.
The video in question shows the Duchess of Sussex on stage at the One Young World event, held at the Royal Albert Hall, when a moment of awkwardness occurs: as Meghan extends her arms to embrace event organizer Kate Robertson, the latter bows in a curtsy at the same time, resulting in an awkward but brief moment.

The description of the video simply says “being royalty,” which has led to platform users sharing divided opinions.
Some comments on social media question the practice of bowing today, while others believe Meghan’s reaction was simply a timing error.
One user wrote, “How is it possible that in the middle of the 21st century there are still people who kneel to others just because someone thought that was cool.” Another online user said, “The more times they do it, the weirder it seems. It’s like when you repeat a word too many times.”

This episode dates back to October 2019, a few months before Meghan and Prince Harry announced their decision to distance themselves from the British royal family.
In January 2020, the couple confirmed their intention to abandon their roles in the monarchy and, shortly thereafter, settled in California.
Interestingly, the resurgence of this video has coincided with the premiere of Meghan’s Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, which has received both positive and negative reviews.
