JetBlue and TAP Air Portugal have announced a new phase in their partnership, allowing members of their respective loyalty programmes to earn and redeem points across both airline networks.
This is the first time JetBlue’s TrueBlue members can redeem points on a European airline partner, opening up more travel opportunities to destinations in Portugal, Africa, and beyond.
JetBlue and TAP Air Portugal: New reciprocal loyalty benefits
As of February 5, 2025, members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue and TAP Air Portugal’s Miles&Go loyalty programmes can now accumulate and use points on flights operated by either airline. The partnership aims to enhance flexibility and rewards for frequent flyers, particularly those travelling between the United States and Europe.
Chris Buckner, JetBlue’s vice president of loyalty and partnerships, stated, “This partnership expansion provides both TrueBlue and TAP Miles&Go members more ways to earn and redeem on travel, more options to tailor their travel journey, and makes exploring both networks even more rewarding.” (Cited by BTN and Business Wire.)
JetBlue expanding its European services
JetBlue has confirmed two new seasonal routes from Boston to Madrid and Edinburgh, which will launch on May 22, 2025. This follows JetBlue’s previous transatlantic expansion, which includes direct flights to London and Paris.
TAP Air Portugal’s Chief Customer Officer, Sofia Lufinha, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “We value this cooperation that will enable our customers extended ways to earn and redeem, through an extended airline network.”
For expats living in Europe, particularly those who frequently travel to North America, this partnership means increased accessibility and value when flying with JetBlue and TAP Air Portugal. The ability to earn and redeem points seamlessly on both airlines offers greater travel flexibility and cost savings.
TAP Air Portugal already operates an extensive network, with flights from major European hubs, including Lisbon and Porto, to destinations worldwide. With JetBlue’s affordable transatlantic fares and premium onboard experience, this partnership could appeal to both business and leisure travellers looking for smooth connections between Europe and the US.
