Infanta Sofia’s Debut in Her First Solo Royal Duty

The Infanta Sofia has starred in one of the highlights of her Christmas vacations in Spain.
After returning from Wales, where she is studying at the UWC Atlantic College, the youngest daughter of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia lived on Friday, December 13, her first official act alone.

Infanta Sofia’s debut in her first solo event
Without the company of her parents or her sister, Princess Leonor, the Infanta took on the role of godmother of the photography contest “Objetivo Patrimonio”, an initiative that celebrates the Day of the Monuments and Emblematic Sites of Spain.
At the event, held at the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid, Sofia presented the prizes for the contest.

The young woman, who usually takes a back seat to her older sister, became the center of attention this time.
Although at times she seemed a little more tense than usual, she managed to handle the situation with the freshness and closeness that characterizes her, wearing her usual smile.
Sofia’s style in her first solo event
For the occasion, the Infanta Sofia chose a white suit of pants and jacket with black double-breasted buttons, a sober but sophisticated choice that she completed with black ballerinas with metallic heels.
Her hair, straight and loose, parted in the middle and parted on the sides, was the perfect complement to a natural makeup that barely highlighted a subtle violet tone on her lips.
During the ceremony, the Infanta sat in a blue armchair before taking the stage to present the awards to the winners.

Although she made no speech, a gesture that would have added a more personal touch to her role as godmother, she was able to maintain her composure and enthusiastically applaud the award winners.
This solo debut marks an important moment in Sofia’s trajectory within her institutional responsibilities.
However, it is understandable that the absence of her usual points of support, such as her family, generated some tension at times.
Christmas plans and return to Wales
After this event, the Infanta Sofia is expected to participate with Princess Leonor in the traditional Christmas greeting of the Royal House.

However, her stay in Spain will be brief, as on January 6 she will resume her classes at the UWC Atlantic College. This academic commitment will also prevent her from attending the traditional Christmas tea organized by her maternal grandfather, Jesús Ortiz.
