Bayern Munich have been dealt with a major blow ahead of their Champions League quarter-final showdown with Inter Milan.

The Bundesliga giants will host Inter on Tuesday night before the return leg at the San Siro eight days later.

However, Vincent Kompany’s side will be without Jamal Musiala after he suffered a  ‘muscle tear in his left hamstring’ during their 3-1 win at Augsburg.

According to Sky Germany, the playmaker will be sidelined for two months meaning he will likely miss Bayern’s title run-in and the remainder of their European campaign.

After scoring the opening goal, Musiala was taken off in the 54th minute of Friday’s clash having felt something in his hamstring.

The club’s director Max Eberl revealed that it was a serious injury and that the 22-year-old would miss the match against Inter.

‘It doesn’t look so good,’ Eberl said. ‘No, he won’t be there on Tuesday,’ Eberl added.

Harry Kane also said: ‘It’s disappointing to see. We didn’t have a good week with all the injuries.

‘Jamal is an important player for us so we’ll miss him for how long he will be out for. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked.’

Musiala’s injury becomes the latest of mounting problems for Kompany’s side, who extended their lead at the top to nine points.

Kingsley Coman (fitness issues), Alphonso Davies (torn ACL), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal injury), Dayot Upamecano (cartilage damage), Aleksandar Pavlovic (recovering from illness), and Manuel Neuer (torn muscle fibre) are all either ruled out or remain doubtful for the clash against Inter.
