Ruben Amorim had an uplifting Friday morning training session as five stars returned to the grass after injury.

Manchester United’s stars are back after the international break and preparing for a trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils will also face Manchester City and Lyon early in the month, with the Europa League likely their only route back into the Champions League.

Defensive trio Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro were all spotted in training at Carrington.

Goalkeeping duo Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton also returned.

Shaw has only managed three appearances all season and it has been over a year since his last start.

Amorim needs Shaw fit again to give him options at left wing-back and on the left-hand side of his back-three.

Maguire, meanwhile, has been out injured since early March after a calf injury and was excluded from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Yoro miss their last game against Leicester City with a foot injury.

Despite the encouragement, other stars such as Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Lisandro Martinez appear to remain injured, with the latter out for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Amad Diallo could return before the end of the season as Amroim says his recovery is ahead of schedule.

Diallo recently dropped a potential hint regarding his comeback from injury after sharing a cryptic social media post.

Amorim will be hoping that some of the sidelined stars are able to make a return before the end of the campaign, as they look to push for a top-half finish.

Diallo had been one of the standout stars for United throughout the campaign but damaged ankle ligaments in training last month and underwent surgery.

However, he’s provided some much-needed positive news for the Red Devils in the form of a cryptic post onto his Snapchat.

On Monday night, the winger shared a picture of himself playing for United with an hourglass emoji and a smiling emoji accompanying it.

Many United fans understood this to be a hint from Diallo that he could make a return to the pitch sooner than expected.

Diallo was ruled out for the rest of the campaign after suffering the training injury, having provided nine goals and seven assists in all competitions for the side.

At the start of the month, Amorim raised hopes that Diallo could return before the end of the season in late May after making good progress in his recovery.

Prior to United’s trip to Arsenal, which resulted in a 1-1 draw, Amorim said: ‘Amad we will see in the last month.

‘I don’t want to say anything, but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season. Let’s talk about Sunday and we’ll see.’

Meanwhile, Mason Mount is nearing a comeback having not played since the Manchester derby in mid-December.
