Jamie Carragher has claimed Liverpool’s last-gasp win over PSG was ‘one of the biggest robberies in football’, as he lauded goalkeeper Alisson Becker’s stunning display.
Liverpool claimed a dramatic 1-0 victory against the reigning French champions in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie in Paris.
Harvey Elliott scored an 87th minute winner for Arne Slot’s side with Liverpool’s only shot on target, just moments after coming off the bench.
The Reds had been dominated throughout the first leg at the Parc des Princes, with PSG having 27 shots on goal, including 10 on target.
PSG had seen a first half effort from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ruled out for a narrow offside, while Alisson’s heroics kept the French side at bay.
Speaking on CBS Sports‘ coverage, former Liverpool defender Carragher claimed the result was a ‘robbery’ while hailing Alisson’s performance.

PSG had dominated the match and had 27 shots on goal but could not beat Alisson Becker
‘That’s one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football,’ Carragher said.
‘I can’t believe what I have just seen, PSG were absolutely outstanding, they battered Liverpool.
The last time Liverpool won the competition, Alisson Becker made a save against Napoli in the last group game and they could have gone out if Napoli had scored.
‘That is always looked back on as a defining moment.
‘That wasn’t a save tonight, that was arguably the greatest performance of his career, certainly in a Liverpool shirt.
‘If Liverpool go on to win the competition, which they have a great chance of, that performance will be remembered for years to come.’
Alisson made nine saves on the night to deny PSG, including saving from Kvaratskhelia on four occasions.
The Brazilian also denied the in-form Ousmane Dembele and fellow Frenchman Desire Doue twice.

Carragher’s fellow pundit Thierry Henry added to the praise of Alisson, labelling his performance as ‘magnificent’.
‘Putting the ball in the back of the net matters, but on this one you have to give Alisson a lot of credit, because I think three should have been a goal,’ Henry said.
‘Three, [you are thinking] he had no right to save that.
‘There’s nothing you can say about Alison Becker, he was magnificent tonight.
‘If it wasn’t for him, Liverpool would have struggled, I don’t remember a lot of games with saves like that in the Champions League.’
Alisson himself admitted it was the ‘best performance of my life’ as he inspired a smash-and-grab victory which gives the Reds a huge chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
Liverpool will host PSG in the second leg of the last-16 tie on March 11.
