Danny Dyer has revealed how his daughter Dani and West Ham star Jarrod Bowen first met.
Dani, 28, shot to fame in 2018 when she won the fourth season of Love Island alongside Jack Fincham, but the couple went their separate ways after the show.
Four years later, she started dating Bowen, and they are due to tie the knot this spring when the football season ends.
Dyer Sr has now recalled how their relationship first began, and it all started with a direct message from the footballer after he had moved into the house next door to Dani’s.
Danny told Andy Goldstein on talkSPORT: ‘We were on holiday and she went to me “dad, I just had a DM from Jarrod Bowen”.
‘So I said “reply to it! What’s the matter with you!?” She’d moved into a nice gaff, she’d got her first property and he was living next door.

Bowen and Dani have been together for three years, and Danny feels what they have is ‘true love’
‘He’d just signed for West Ham and then he dropped a package to her house. A delivery got put to his house instead of hers so he dropped it round to her. She said “his eyes, dad. His blue eyes.”‘
Danny is a die-hard West Ham fan, and Bowen gave him his best memory as a supporter by scoring the winner in the Irons’ Europa Conference League triumph over Fiorentina in 2023 that handed the club their first trophy in 43 years.
Bowen certainly has Danny’s blessing to be with his daughter, and the EastEnders actor was thrilled for his future son-in-law when he found out live on talkSPORT last year that Bowen had made England’s squad for Euro 2024.
Danny even joked that he might like Bowen more than his daughter does, before declaring that what the couple have is definitely ‘true love’.
Asked who was more fond of Bowen out of himself and Dani, Danny replied: ‘That’s a tricky one that is. There ain’t much in it.
‘I wanted to take his shoes off for him and put his feet up on the settee, give him a nice massage. You don’t want to go in too strong.
‘But it’s true love with them two. It’s so beautiful.’
