Manchester City have been handed one of the hardest draws possible for the FA Cup quarter-finals after surviving their encounter with giant-killers Plymouth.
The FA Cup is their only realistic chance of silverware this season after Pep Guardiola’s men were dumped out of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup, while they are 20 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League.
Former Manchester United defender Denis Irwin and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy decided City’s fate in the BBC draw, with the Mancunians being the only ‘Big Six’ club left standing.
They face a trip to Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium, where the Cherries handed out a 5-0 lashing to Nottingham Forest in January. Behind City and Villa, Andoni Iraola’s side are the highest-ranked side left in the competition.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa will travel to Preston North End, who are the only Championship club remaining after they knocked out Lancashire rivals Burnley with a 3-0 win.
Elsewhere, Brighton host the winner between Nottingham Forest and Ipswich, which will be decided on Monday evening.

Brighton are set to face the winner between Nottingham Forest and Ipswich after Danny Welbeck’s late winner against Newcastle
Furthermore, Crystal Palace – after an emotionally challenging game against Millwall – face a trip to Fulham after the Cottagers knocked out holders Manchester United on penalties.
The quarter-final ties will be played across the final weekend in March.
The draw took place after an extra-time clash between Man United and Fulham at Old Trafford, where penalty shootout misses from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee led to the Red Devils’ exit from the tournament.
Brighton are also through after an astonishing showdown against Newcastle at St James Park, which included all elements fans adore, such as red cards, stoppage-time and late winners.
Danny Welbeck scored a dramatic winner in the 114th minute after he appeared as a substitute just before the start of the extra-time.
The fifth round will also be remembered for several controversies in Bournemouth’s victory over Wolves, which included Matheus Cunha’s dismissal and the Cherries’ goal being ruled out after an eight-minute VAR check.
Additionally, Crystal Palace’s 3-1 victory over Millwall on Saturday was overshadowed by Jean-Philippe Mateta’s horror challenge on Liam Roberts, which left the striker requiring stitches after a trip to the hospital.
