Prince William and Kate’s PDA in Wales

Prince William and Kate Middleton have made headlines again, but this time not necessarily for their visit to Wales, but for what happened at the end of their stay.
On their recent trip to Pontypridd, a town in South Wales that suffered severe flooding last December, the princes decided to go and show their support for the affected residents.
It was a gesture much appreciated by the community, and the visit proved to be quite fruitful, leaving memorable moments, such as their adorable interactions with each other.
Prince William and Kate’s PDA in Wales
During their time in Wales, the couple showed an uncommon dose of affection by British royal standards.
Between glances, caresses, and clasped hands, William and Kate indulged in affection, something that doesn’t happen often.
After Kate’s well-known illness, it seems their connection has grown so strong that sharing their love in public is no longer taboo.
To seal their visit to Pontypridd, Kensington Palace posted a brief video on social media showing the princes walking hand in hand to the station to return home.
“Thank you, Pontypridd!” wrote the couple’s office below the seven-second video, accompanied by emojis of a waving hand and the Welsh flag. They also shared the same message in Welsh, keeping with the tradition they have followed during their visits to this part of the UK.
To better understand this new stage of love and complicity between William and Kate, we consulted non-verbal communication expert Cristian Salomoni of the International Institute for Behavior Analysis.

Salomoni’s analysis, published in the Spanish magazine Vanitatis, highlights how, despite being at an official event, the couple intimately communicated their connection through subtle gestures.
“There is a lot of non-verbal couple communication in this official act, something we had not seen before in them. The gestures are very nice and show the strong bond between the two. When they walk hand in hand, you can tell they are there for each other,” says Salomoni.
In addition, Salomoni also mentions how the way William listens to Kate reveals a level of respect and admiration.
“When she speaks, William is attentive, with a big smile and an active listening attitude. This is very nice because the impression it gives is that he gives her a lot of space,” she comments.
The public’s response on social media was not long in coming, with many feeling inspired by this unexpected display of affection between the couple.
- “Love seeing them holding hands. Tough times remind us of how much we love people and maybe just maybe the Tough times have made them not care of strict rules. I love it.”
- “Lovely to see them together holding hands and in good health”.
- “It’s quite rare to witness something like this! “
- “They’re so real and genuine. It’s not for cameras or for show, it’s just them together and you can tell it’s real. This kind of love can’t be faked”.
“Wonderful to see them! I keep her in my prayers for continued health.” - “Just beautiful to see husband and wife expressing there love ❤️ for each other. The Prince and Princess of Wales should do it more often. We the public love to see this.”
- “Queen has passed they respected her traditions while she was alive but now they get to make the rules. Very happy for them.”.
However, we see it is clear that William and Kate are enjoying a new stage in their relationship, and their interactions in Wales have left many with a smile on their faces.
