Warwick Davis’ emotional tribute to late wife Samantha Davis
Warwick Davis captured hearts at the BAFTAs as he accepted the Fellowship Award, the British Academy’s highest honour. The Willow and Harry Potter star received a standing ovation before delivering a heartfelt speech dedicated to his late wife, Samantha, who sadly passed away in 2023.
Davis, 55, expressed gratitude for her unwavering support, saying, “She was always so supportive of my career and encouraged me to grab every opportunity with both hands.” His children, Annabelle, 27, and Harrison, 21, were seen visibly moved in the audience.
He also hinted at finding love again, thanking a mystery person he referred to as ‘Sponge’ for helping him rediscover happiness. “Thank you for showing me that life can still have meaning and for helping me to laugh and to love again,” he said through tears. Social media erupted after he delivered his speech with many users describing how Davis had reduced them to tears.
