DeepScribe, an AI-enabled clinical documentation tool for healthcare providers, is partnering with oncology-focused digital health company Flatiron Health to bring DeepScribe’s AI documentation to clinicians that use Flatiron’s OncoEMR, cloud-based electronic medical record platform.
According to the company, DeepScribe’s ambient AI is “optimized for oncology by comprehending the workflow, terminology and subtleties of cancer care, then automatically creating a structured clinical note.”
It includes pulling in key contextual information from prior visits, comprehending interval history based on the current conversation and organizing the note’s plan with pertinent ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
Additionally, every AI-generated note automatically populates the patient chart within OncoEMR for clinician review and sign-off, thereby streamlining the workflow.
The alliance secures DeepScribe as the first ambient AI solution partner for Flatiron Health.
The companies tout that integration of DeepScribe’s oncology-specific AI with OncoEMR will allow providers across more than 800 community-based cancer care locations in the U.S. in Flatiron’s network to reduce the time spent charting and cultivate a more personal connection with patients.
“We are thrilled to partner with Flatiron and help them continue having a meaningful impact on cancer care,” Matthew Ko, DeepScribe CEO and cofounder, said in a statement.
“We want to ensure that their clinicians can make the most of every encounter, with the information and time they need to truly connect with the patient. The seamless integration with OncoEMR helps make that happen.”
Nina Chavez, vice president of strategic partnerships and alliances at Flatiron Health, pointed out that technology, including AI tools, are transforming the point of care and are improving outcomes for both patients and clinicians.
“We’re excited to bring DeepScribe’s AI documentation tools to our network of providers, reducing the administrative burden on providers and enabling more meaningful time with patients,” Chavez said in a statement.
