Commanders vs Eagles Prediction: Odds, Expert Picks, QB Matchup, Injury News, Betting Trends and Stats

The Eagles and Commanders meet in DC with Washington hanging on by a thread for the postseason.

Washington is 9-5 this season and thriving behind rookie QB Jayden Daniels. The Commanders have won two straight after three consecutive losses. Washington sits in the 7th and final NFC playoff spot and has a Sunday Night Football primetime matchup versus Atlanta next week before wrapping up the season at Dallas in Week 18.

The Commanders currently have an 85% chance of making the playoffs and that dips to 78% if they lose a second time to the Eagles.

Philadelphia is 12-2 and in a three-team race with Minnesota and Detroit for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Eagles have won 10 straight games since the bye week and are 3-0 against the NFC East. Philly wraps up the season with the Cowboys and Giants at home after this trip to DC. The Eagles could finish with 13 straight wins and a perfect 6-0 record versus the division.

Game odds for Eagles vs. Commanders

The latest odds as of Saturday courtesy of DraftKings:

Moneyline: Philadelphia Eagles (-192), Washington Commanders (+160)

Spread: Eagles -3.5 (-115)

Total: 45.5

The opening spread has not budged an inch, but the total continued to trickle down from 48.5 on Dec. 10 to the 45.5 we see here almost two weeks later. The Eagles closed as -4.5 point favorites and a total of 49.5 in the previous meeting. Philadelphia covered and the Under hit (26-18).

NBC Sports Bet Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes the Eagles 1Q Team Total Under 5.5 at the Washington Commanders:

“This is a tricky game to bet as Philadelphia covered the first meeting at home as -4.5 point favorites (26-18) and are 3-0 against NFC East opponents this season.

I lean toward the Commanders’ +3.5 as the spread moved down since the last meeting, but I think the best bet is to fade the Eagles’ offense early.

Washington hasn’t allowed a first-quarter touchdown in four straight games and only one team (Pittsburgh) has scored in the first 15 minutes on Washington since Week 5, Philadelphia included (WSH led 1Q 7-0).

The Eagles scored 10 first-quarter points against the Steelers but that was the only time Philadelphia scored more than three points in the first quarter of the last five games. In fact, Philadelphia has 13 first-quarter points in the last five games and was shutout against Washington, Carolina, and Baltimore (3 at L.A. Rams).

I like the Eagles to go Under 5.5 first-quarter points in Washington.”
